Loan Repayment Strategies for Public Interest and Public Sector Lawyers

You now have more options in managing repayment of your federal student loans, particularly if you are interested in pursuing a career in public interest or public sector law.The College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 (CCRAA) created the Loan Forgiveness for Public Service Employees program and the Income-Based Repayment option. These new programs create more options to help make federal student loan repayment more affordable. This interactive session will provide an in-depth overview of these new programs, examples that illustrate how these new programs can benefit you, and strategies for successfully managing repayment of your federal student loans. We'll also discuss other loan forgiveness programs that may be available to you if you plan a career in public interest or the public sector.
