If you have Media Services needs that aren't addressed on this site, please contact us with your request.
No student may make an audio or video recording of any class, using any technological device, unless the student has received prior approval of the instructor. If a student is given permission to record a class, the student shall not, under any circumstances, make copies of, or distribute to others, any such recording. Classes may be recorded by the school for various reasons, including as an accommodation to students with disabilities. Entering students are required to sign a form acknowledging their receipt of and adherence to this recording policy.
In all lecture rooms and most seminar rooms, the lecture capture system automatically audio records classes during scheduled class hours and free hours, including breaks. Signs are posted at the entrances to these rooms to advise all entrants about the use of the lecture capture equipment. Upon faculty request, Media Services will make available to all students in the course a class recording. Media Services will not release class recordings to individual students for individual absences. If a faculty member wishes to release a recording to individual students, they can do so themselves from their Canvas course site, after letting Media Services know the date/time/class they want to release. How to instructions for granting individual students access is available here. Media Services is also happy to walk you through the process as needed.
