Instructions for using the Panopto Viewer (including hardware requirements) are here.
Instructions for taking notes (a great feature!) are here.
Other features include:
Automatically recognizes any recording device you want to use.
Allows instructors (and students) to take notes while viewing presentation.
Notes and PowerPoint slides are automatically searchable.
Internet connection not required to record content.
If you want more training on both basic and advanced topics, it is highly recommended that you sign up for one of Panopto's upcoming free seminars. Webinars are available twice a month (2nd and 4th Wednesday) from 11:00 - 12:00 EST.
The Basic Training Webinar is designed for new users and beginners who would like to learn how to use the Panopto software. The Advanced Webinar covers a specific topic and is designed for users with an understanding of Panopto's basic functionality and use.
If you are a student in a class using the Video On Demand (VOD) record room (307D/198), you can download instructions here.
Instructions for sharing your recorded files with other students in the course are here.
If you are a student in a class that has assigned recordings, and you wish to use your own computer, camera, and microphone, you can download the recorder using the links below.
For all other students, you must first request a drop-box from media services in order to record and then publish to the media server and share your recordings with fellow students and professors.
You can download and install the Panopto personal capture application to any computer based on your operating system by clicking the links below. During installation, when prompted to enter the server information (Step 7, Windows Installation, Step 3, Mac Configuration), enter: uchastings.hosted.panopto.com.
