All members of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law community must carry with them at all times their UC Hastings-issued photo ID card. Your ID card must be displayed at all times while on campus, and shown upon entry to any of UC Hastings campus buildings.
You must have a form of government-issued photo identification in order to be issued a campus photo ID. The following government issued photo IDs will meet this requirement:
Always carry your UC Hastings photo ID while on campus. You will need your UC Hastings photo ID to check out books at the UC Hastings Library. Your card gives you access to the Computer Lab in the Law Library, the bike cage in front of 200 McAllister Street, and other services throughout the campus. You will need your UC Hastings photo ID in the evening and on weekends to enter campus buildings, when access is restricted to non UC Hastings community members.
Cards must be presented in any of the campus buildings upon request by UC Hastings officials.
The UC Hastings photo ID is a proximity card, equipped with a device that electronically communicates with access readers by placing the card near a reader. When you hear a “beep,” the reader displays a green light, access is granted, and you may proceed.

With the current validation sticker, you can receive a discounted parking rate at the UC Hastings Parking Garage for an all day rate of $9.00 (no in and out). You must pay the attendant in person to receive the discounted rate. The maximum Public rate is $26.00 per day.
Subsequent semester validation stickers are available to current students in the Office of Fiscal Services.
Please report lost or stolen cards to the Department of Public Safety either in person or by telephone by calling (415) 565-4611.
Replacement cards will be issued to students after first reporting the loss to the Records Office to obtain a receipt verifying enrollment. Students must then go to the Fiscal Services Office to pay the $10 replacement fee, obtain a receipt. Students should then bring both receipts to the UC Hastings Department of Public Safety, which will then issue a replacement card. The office is located on level B of 198 McAllister Street.
