The UC Hastings Department of Public Safety's mission is to enhance and preserve the quality of the learning opportunities and life experiences of each member of our community by actively working in collaboration with all facets of the UC Hastings community to provide a safe and secure campus environment. We recognize that effective public safety and the prevention of crime is achieved by establishing a professional and trusting relationship with our community.
Chief Hallahan, Sergeant Stewart, and the Public Safety Officers are happy to answer questions and provide tips on remaining as safe as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read the department webpage. Whether you are faculty, staff, student, or visitor, the Public Safety Department is here to provide you with a safe and secure environment and to meet the educational goals of this institution. We serve the community by providing professional law enforcement and security services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, all year round. The Department is committed to providing the campus community with proactive, positive, and professional law enforcement services that are courteous and service-driven. It is my expectation that the professionally-trained members of our department will continually be guided by integrity and a service-oriented mindset to help ensure the safety of our community.
