On Friday May 22, 2015 while on foot patrol, UC Hastings Public Safety was flagged down by victim who had their vehicle broken into. The victim is not affiliated with the UC Hastings community. Victim parked his vehicle on the Golden Gate Ave at approximately 08:00 pm and returned to his vehicle 08:30 pm Indicating the crime occurred between those times. The unknown suspect shattered the passenger side rear window of the vehicle, and the victim reported items stolen from vehicle valued at approximately $400.00 which included a carrying bag, backpack, and an I-Pad. There is no suspect information. UC Hastings’ surveillance footage of the area was limited. The victim was advised to file a San Francisco Police report.

Lock all vehicle doors
Set alarm or anti-theft device
Don't leave valuables in the car
If you must leave valuable items in your car while out and about, place items out of sight before reaching your destination or move them inconspicuously
If you are the victim of auto burglary in the area of Hastings, please report it to Hastings Public Safety Department, and then to San Francisco Police Department to file reports.
If you observe any suspicious activity on or around campus please report it to Campus Public Safety immediately at 565-4611 or by picking up a "Red" phone, or once you are in a safe location. At the UC Hastings Garage there are assistance stations that can be used to contact Campus Public Safety as well. For emergency or in-progress incidents, dial 9-1-1 and/or report it to the Public Safety Department.
