Hyde / McAllister Street
On Monday, March 2, 2015 at approximately 6:35 pm, a UC Hastings student had a battery committed against them while walking near the intersection of Hyde and McAllister Street. The suspect struck the student in the chest for no apparent reason. It was confirmed through surveillance video that the suspect fled the scene on foot northbound on Hyde Street. No arrest has been made at this time.
Dark complexion, 5’8-6’, 210lbs, 25-30, short hair, black jacket, dark jeans, long multicolor tee shirt.

If you are the victim of a battery the following are some safety tips that may prove helpful:
- Get to a safe place as soon as you can.
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Report the incident to the nearest law enforcement officer or dial 9-1-1
- If you are walking alone, try to have a whistle with you. If you find yourself in
danger, blow the whistle to attract attention for help
If you observe any suspicious activity on or around campus please report it to Campus Public Safety immediately at 565-4611 or by picking up a "Red" phone, or once you are in a safe location. At the UC Hastings Garage there are assistance stations that can be used to contact Campus Public Safety as well. For emergency or in-progress incidents, dial 9-1-1 and/or report it to the Public Safety Department.
