I write to share sadness. Sarah Tigerman, a member of the UC Hastings class of 1996, who served as our Associate Director for Recruitment in the Office of Career & Professional Development, has passed away. She had been valiant in the face of cancer until the very end; in the end she left this world as she had wished, in her sleep.
Shortly before she entered hospice care, Sarah came to campus to visit friends. She and her partner, Jenni, enjoyed the opportunity to see everyone here. Sarah was beloved.
It is so important for us as a community to come together when we suffer a loss as with Sarah, because the community is constituted by such moments.
For students, Student Health Services is a safe and confidential place to discuss any concerns that you may have related to issues of grief and loss, as well as other issues. They can be reached at (415) 565-4612.
