Founded in 1878 by Serranus Clinton Hastings (the first Chief Justice of California) as University of California's first law school, Hastings College of the Law has been at the center of the legal community in the West for more than 120 years. In addition to legal practice that covers the entire spectrum of law, Hastings graduates sit as judges on the California bench by a 3-to-1 margin over any other law school.
