Civil Justice Clinic Turns 15
CJC alumnus Sheena Wadhawan with CJC Fellow Willie Nguyen
Director since its inception, Professor Mark N. Aaronson, passed the baton to CJC’s new Director, Professor Miye Goishi, who's been part of CJC’s teaching staff since the beginning. We all thanked Mark for his invaluable contribution in heading up the Clinic since its birth. Mark will now focus on his teaching (Community Economic Development Clinic; Problem Solving and Professional Judgment) and scholarship.

Three of our CJC alumni – one from each five-year period of CJC’s Clinical offerings – spoke quite eloquently and passionately about what they had gained from their CJC experience:

Emi Gusukuma (CJC F96/S97) is an attorney with the San Francisco firm of Haas and Nejarian and has volunteered as a Guest Lecturer for CJC’s Individual Representation Clinic classes. [Left: New CJC Director, Prof. Miye Goishi; Right: Emi Gusukuma.]
After practicing law in Oregon, Amanto Marcotulli (CJC F01) has returned to California, and is an attorney at UC-Berkeley's University Relations department.

Sheena Wadhawan (CJC F05/S06) is a Neighborhood Law Corps Attorney with the Oakland City Attorney's Office
