The goal of these sessions is to develop students' independent learning strategies using a skills-based approach. During the summer, incoming LEOP students are offered three optional pre-law sessions which introduce students to case briefing, legal analysis, and legal writing. Prior to the start of the school year, LEOP students are required to participate in a six-day orientation which prepares students for academic success.
LEOP students are required to attend simulated exam workshops during the first year of law school. Students write practice exams and receive written evaluations of their knowledge and exam-taking techniques.
LEOP offers individualized tutoring, academic counseling, and workshops.
Tutorials are conducted in some second-year courses. Each tutorial session uses problem solving to review substantive law and legal analysis.
For its graduating students, LEOP offers a supplemental bar review course. The program emphasizes study techniques and exam-taking skills and practice, and provides constructive feedback.
