Adjunct Professor James R. Dillon is a Ph.D. student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy at UC Berkeley, where his research focuses principally on the construction of knowledge and expertise by legal actors from an interdisciplinary perspective emphasizing legal and political philosophy and the sociology of science. He is also a part-time associate attorney at Alto Litigation P.C., where his work involves a wide range of issues in commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
Professor Dillon completed his J.D. at New York University in 2003, where he served as Articles Editor and Notes Editor for the New York University Environmental Law Journal, and an M.A. in Philosophy at NYU in 2005. He subsequently clerked for the Honorable I. Leo Glasser, Senior District Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and practiced litigation for five years in the New York City offices of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.
