Jennifer A. Reisch, Adjunct Faculty

Jennifer Reisch has served as an Adjunct Professor at U.C. Hastings College of the Law since January 2009, teaching a bilingual course on Representing Spanish-Speaking Workers.  She is the Legal Director of Equal Rights Advocates (ERA) in San Francisco, a nonprofit legal organization dedicated to protecting and expanding economic and educational access and opportunities for women and girls.  Ms. Reisch has devoted her legal career to fighting for the civil and economic rights of workers, students, and consumers.  Ms. Reisch joined ERA in September 2012, after more than seven years with the San Francisco law firm of Talamantes Villegas Carrera, LLP, where she specialized in representing low-wage and immigrant workers in individual and class action cases challenging discrimination, harassment, wage and hour violations, and other unfair and unlawful business practices.  Ms. Reisch previously practiced plaintiff-side employment and human rights litigation at Bahan & Associates of Pasadena, after serving as the 2002-2003 Public Interest Law Fellow at Public Advocates in San Francisco.  She has been recognized as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers magazine in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. 

Ms. Reisch previously taught at the University of San Francisco School of Law, and has authored and edited several litigation manuals, articles, and other materials concerning the employment-related civil rights of immigrants and low-wage workers. She is currently the Co-Chair of California Employment Lawyers Association’s (CELA) Wage and Hour Committee, and a member of CELA’s Immigrant Employment Rights Committee.  Ms. Reisch volunteers as a supervising attorney with the Workers’ Rights Clinic of the Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center, and serves on the Advisory Board of the East Bay Community Law Center as well as the Diversity Committee of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.

Ms. Reisch graduated cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University in 1996 and received her J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2002.  She is fluent in Spanish and French.
