Adjunct Professor Nina Segre graduated from Harvard University and University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 1974). As a practicing lawyer she has focused on commercial real estate transactions, principally from her base in Philadelphia, where she is Senior Counsel at the Firm of Montgomery, McCracken, and former Chair of its real estate department. Earlier, she ran her own firm for several years, with a boutique practice in commercial real estate, and, prior to that, she was with another major firm for nearly 20 years, as both an associate and a partner, and co-chair of the real estate group there. Professor Segre's experience includes office buildings, retail facilities, industrial plants, energy facilities, and multi-family apartment complexes. She has handled purchases, sales, financings, leasing, development, and work-outs.
Professor Segre's "legal-related" volunteer activities have included being Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Real Property Section for one year, being on the Board of Directors of Philadelphia Housing and Community Development Corporation (which oversees about $50 million per year in funding), sitting on loan committees for The Reinvestment Fund, volunteering as a judge pro tem in the Philadelphia Court's Mortgage Foreclosure Diversion Program, and sitting on the Board of her 500-unit condominium in Philadelphia.
Professor Segre spends her winters in San Francisco.
