Jo Carrillo, Professor of Law

Professor Jo Carrillo graduated from Stanford University, B.A.; the University of New Mexico, J.D.; and Stanford Law School, J.S.D. She joined the UC Hastings faculty in 1991 and teaches in the property curriculum.

Professor Carrillo's most recent publications are on the topics of financial interests; marital property; and popular legal culture. Her work appears in many different journals, including most recently Law & Society Review, the Harvard Latino Law Review, the Berkeley Business Law Journal, and the Hastings Business Law Journal. Professor Carrillo has been a member of the Herbert Jacob Book Prize Selection Committee; a Trustee of the Law & Society Association; and a peer reviewer for the Law & Society Review, the American Indian Law Review, and the Political and Legal Anthropological Review (PoLAR). Professor Carrillo has served as a visiting professor at Stanford Law School, a Harry & Lillian Hastings Research Chair at UC Hastings and a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley Law School's Center for the Study of Law & Society.
