The University of California Hastings College of the Law offers two non-JD programs -- the LL.M. in U.S. Legal Studies and the Master of Studies in Law.
The UC Hastings LL.M. program is designed for international students who possess a first degree in law from a university outside of the United States and who wish to spend a year studying in San Francisco specializing in U.S. Legal Studies alongside their J.D. counterparts. Master of Studies in Law (MSL) Degree
The UC Hastings Master of Studies in Law (MSL) is a one-year program designed for students who already have a graduate degree or substantial professional experience in a field other than law and wish to study the law alongside their J.D. counterparts, without becoming practicing lawyers.
