
Professor Maffet has specialized in international and corporate law since graduating from Hastings. She practiced with a large international law firm in San Francisco and served as Vice President and Senior Counsel for a Fortune 500 corporation. She returned to Hastings in 2009 to administer its global programs, teach, and advise international students.
Prior to attending Hastings, Professor Maffet earned a Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas, pursued post-graduate work in Middle Eastern Studies at UC-Berkeley, worked as an Federal Executive Intern in Washington, D.C. and was on the faculty at Razi University, Iran where she taught English and Linguistics courses and developed a Business English program for National Iranian Radio & Television. She has lived and worked in a number of locations abroad, including Europe, Micronesia, the Middle East and Latin America.
