Master of Studies in Law

Thank you for your interest in our Master of Studies in Law (MSL) degree. 


Our inaugural MSL Class matriculated in August 2012. This exceptional group of academics, professionals, and students have backgrounds primarily in the health & sciences. In response to an overwhelming interest in our program, we will be expanding the MSL to include students with graduate degrees or substantial experience in other disciplines.

In this Section

UC Hastings College of the Law was founded in 1878 as the first law department of the University of California. We are located in San Francisco’s Civic Center—steps from City Hall, the State and Federal Buildings, the State Supreme, Superior and Appellate Courts, as well as the United States District Court and Court of Appeals.
