Application Checklist

A complete application for the MSL program must include all of the following documents:

• A completed UC Hastings MSL Application Form.
• A resume or curriculum vitae.
• Official undergraduate and/or graduate school transcripts in an official, sealed envelope.  
• A personal statement of 700 to 1,500 words explaining your interest in the MSL program. Please ensure that your first and last name appears on each page. The statement should be typed and double spaced.
• Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your academic or professional background.  
• A $75.00 non-refundable application fee made payable to UC Hastings College of the Law. Payment may be made by check or online via credit card.

Official transcripts and recommendation letters should be mailed directly to the applicant in sealed envelopes. These unopened envelopes should then be placed together with the other components of the application.

Standardized Test Scores

Standardized test scores are not required for the MSL application as long as you have completed a graduate degree. If you have not completed a graduate degree (i.e. undergraduate only or currently enrolled in a graduate program), then please provide an official score report from one of the following:

• GRE (use code 4342 to have your score report sent directly to UC Hastings)
• LSAT (send a copy of your official score report directly to UC Hastings)
• MCAT (send a copy of your official score report directly to UC Hastings)
