Concentrations
Although law schools don't have "majors," Hastings has concentrations that enable students to focus their studies in an integrated manner. You may earn a certificate of concentration in one of the following areas:
- Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution
- Criminal Law Practice and Theory
- Intellectual Property Law
- International and Comparative Law
- Law and Health Sciences
- Social Justice Lawyering
- Taxation
Each concentration has its own requirements; visit the link for the concentration that interests you.
With the permission of a concentration advisor, and if consistent with the College's academic regulations, students may apply units from another law school, or units earned as part of an approved joint degree program, toward fulfillment of concentration requirements. Students can also request credit for relevant independent studies, law journal writing, and interscholastic moot court competitions sponsored by the Law School.
The Records Office maintains a list of the advisors for each field of concentrated study, as well as an enrollment form for participation in the program.
