The Class of 2014 1L Pro Bono Section Challenge is on!
This is an opportunity to highlight the work so many of you are doing and challenge you to do more through a 1L SECTION COMPETITION! Demonstrate your section pride while getting great legal experience and providing needed assistance to our community.
The first section standings will be posted in the Weekly and in the lobby of the 198 building on Feb. 13th. Turn in your timesheets to the Externships and Pro Bono office in Room 350 in McAllister Tower, or as an email attachment to jacksoja@uchastings.edu by Feb. 8th to have the hours reflected in the first reporting of the pro bono contest standings. After Feb. 13th, the contest standing will be updated weekly.
We challenge each section of the Class of 2014 to complete the most number of pro bono hours during the 2011-2012 academic year! The winning section earns perpetual recognition and will then set the number of hours to beat for next years 1L class.
Section 1 of the Class of 2012, were the contest winners two years ago with a total of 561 hours of pro bono services; the total number of hours for the entire Class of 2012 was 1935.
Section 4 of the Class of 2013, were the contest winners last year with a total of 720 hours of pro bono services; the total number of hours for the entire Class of 2012 was 2,220
These are the numbers for the Class of 2014 to beat!
