As a member of the board at St. Francis Hospital Foundation, Martinez has overseen the growth and development the West coast's premier burn unit. He felt especially rewarded for his efforts when a serious burn victim donated a substantial sum of money to the Foundation in recognition of the care she received at the burn unit.
-
Martinez has worked to provide stability to Public Advocates while on its board of directors by expanding its revenue stream to include fundraising in addition to court-awarded attorneys fees.
-
With Martinez's leadership, Public Radio Capital has raised over $141 Million in the past 6 years for public radio stations to buy new broadcast frequencies.

On his personal commitment to pro bono: "It's the easiest thing in the world for me to do. I don't tire of it, and I hope to be doing it for a long time."
