Institutional aid (UC Hastings scholarships, grants, and loans) and federal campus-based aid (Perkins Loans, and Federal Work-Study) are given to full-time students (minimum 12 units) to reward performance, encourage continued enrollment at UC Hastings, and offset the cost of attendance at UC Hastings. These types of aid are not transferable, meaning a student must be attending and paying fees to UC Hastings in order to receive these types of aid. They can not be used to offset the cost of attending a study away or study abroad program.
Students who study in a UC Hastings authorized Exchange Program are eligible for Institutional Aid and campus-based aid because fees are paid directly to UC Hastings.
Institutional aid as well as campus-based aid is offered to students studying full-time (minimum 12 units) for the first six semesters of attendance at UC Hastings.
A student who must enroll for a seventh semester to complete the academic requirements for the J.D. is eligible for Federal Stafford, Graduate PLUS and alternative loans only. S/he is not eligible for Perkins Loan, Federal Work-Study, UC Hastings Grant, or a UC Hastings scholarship.
Living expenses are prorated by unit for student taking fewer than 10 units.
