The UC Hastings MSL program launched in 2012 with classes beginning in late August. The current MSL student fees will be $41,200 for the year with no distinction made between in-state and out-of-state residents. Health insurance fees will be $2,480*. Scholarships will be available. Estimated living expenses are $21,156**.
Full-time students and part-time students taking a minimum of six credit hours per semester are eligible for federal loan programs including the Stafford unsubsidized loans and graduate PLUS loans***. All scholarship and financial aid decisions are made on an individual basis. UC Hastings will work with each admitted MSL student to craft a financial plan that is best for him or her.
MSL students applying for financial aid should submit the FAFSA (U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents only) and the 2012-13 UC Hastings Financial Aid Supplement by March 1, 2012.
*Health insurance for UC Hastings students is mandatory; however entering students with proof of equivalent coverage can apply for a health insurance waver. If the waver is approved, the insurance charge will be reversed.
**Living expenses include housing, food, transportation, books and supplies, and federal loan fees. The estimate is based on a nine month academic calendar and the same estimate is used for on- or off-campus housing.
