{ academics: cONceNTraTiONs } la anD heal hTW sciences Given the dynamic, ongoing evolution of statutes related to health care, new medical technologies, and the use of scientific evidence in the nation’s courtrooms, the need for lawyers with an understanding of our health care system and scientific methods is greater than ever. To address this need, the Law and Health Sciences concentration allows students to focus on issues that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of law, medicine, and science. In the required courses, students learn the fundamentals of the health care system and basic scientific principles. These courses help students identify areas of interest, such as bioethics or global public health, for more advanced study. Students must take the Health Sciences Concentration Seminar, which connects law students with students from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), one of the world’s finest academic medical centers.
