The Taxation concentration introduces students to complex principles of the fed- eral income, corporate, partnership, and wealth-transfer tax systems. Students learn to solve problems typically encountered in practice, and they develop an instinct for tax planning and the resolution of tax controversies. Through qualifying electives, students solidify their grasp of issues such as tax policy, taxation of foreign transactions, and taxation of nonprofit organizations. Tax students at UC Hastings have tremendous opportunities to blend theory and practice.
