{ academics } Justin Hager ’12 “The clinical programs at UC Hastings are extraordinary. I participated in the Legislation Clinic in Sacramento and had the opportunity to be part of the legislative process firsthand. The clinic is unique and valuable for someone who wants to work in public policy. “Law schools usually emphasize laws after they have been created, but the clinic emphasizes how laws come into being. Now, I have a greater under- standing of how laws actually get made and who the interested parties are. Because the education is very skills oriented, UC Hastings students are prepared to enter the workforce on day one and be successful.” Undergraduate Degree: B.A., Political Science University of Wisconsin > At UC Hastings, we believe the law does not exist in a vacuum—it is not restricted to the courtroom. The law spans academic disciplines, transcends traditionally defined political borders, and permeates almost every aspect of contemporary life. This vision guides our efforts to provide students with a rigorous, relevant education that aims to solve the definitive problems facing lawyers today. To study law at UC Hastings is to join a dynamic community of legal schol- ars and thoughtful practitioners in the ongoing exploration of the law and its significant role in our lives. 4 UC hastings / www.uchastings.edu
