Recruiting



The Office of Career & Professional Development offers several recruiting programs throughout the school year. The major program for recruiting both second-year students for summer positions and third-year students for permanent, post-JD positions is the Fall On-Campus Interview (OCI) program. We also offer a Spring OCI program where you can interview first, second, and/or third-year students. As a member of the Northern California Law School Consortium, Hastings participates in and typically hosts both the Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day and the Small Firm Career Day. Employers can interview students from all participating law schools. If you prefer to interview students off-campus, you can post job listings through our online system at all times.

Standards for Timing of Offers and Decisions

University of California, Hastings College of the Law is a member of the National Association of Law Placement (NALP, www.nalp.org). NALP Principles & Standards are guidelines that set forth an ethical framework for law student recruiting for law schools, legal employers and law students. All Hastings students and all employers that recruit Hastings students are expected to fully adhere to NALP Principles & Standards, including the Standards for the Timing of Offers and Decisions.
