Michael Bruno
Adjunct Professor Michael D. Bruno is a litigation partner at Gordon & Rees, LLP. He represents both private and public entities in employment matters, focusing his practice on defending employers against discrimination and harassment claims. Professor Bruno also litigates cases concerning alleged violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and advises employer clients on reasonable accommodations.
Professor Bruno has handled cases in both state and federal trial courts, as well as before administrative agencies. He has tried cases successfully before juries and has had considerable success in pretrial motion practice. Appearing in California's appellate courts, he has drafted and argued successful oppositions to appeals of his favorable decisions in the trial courts.
Professor Bruno graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1990 with a degree in political science. In 1993 he received his J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Emery Law Scholarship. He joined Gordon & Rees, LLP that same year.
Professor Bruno is a member of the Labor and Employment Litigation Section of the California Bar Association and the Labor and Employment Sections of the American Bar Association and the San Francisco Bar Association.
