Jon B. Eisenberg


Adjunct Professor Jon B. Eisenberg is a civil appellate practitioner and is principle co-author of The Rutter Group's California Practice Guide:  Civil Appeals and Writs.  He is a partner with Eisenberg & Hancock LLP, and was previously a partner with Horvitz & Levy LLP, the largest appellate law firm in California.  He is a 1979 graduate of Hastings College of the Law.
 
Professor Eisenberg has argued dozens of cases in the California Court of Appeal and the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and 11 cases in the California Supreme Court, litigating a wide variety of civil rights and business issues, including free speech, constitutional separation of powers, the right to die, reproductive choice, mediation, lawyer ethics, and corporate fraud.  He was one of Michael Schiavo's attorneys in the Terri Schiavo case and subsequently wrote a book about the case, The Right vs. the Right to Die.  He is currently litigating Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation, Inc. v. Obama, a lawsuit challenging the legality of President Bush's warrantless wiretapping program.
