James W. Head
Adjunct Professor James W. Head is president and attorney with the National Economic Development and Law Center, a private, nonprofit corporation based in Oakland, California which provides professional assistance and training to Legal Services corporation attorneys and staff, community development corporations, and community-based organizations throughout the country. A graduate of the University of Georgia undergraduate (1974) and law school (1977), Professor Head is a member of the California, Georgia and Florida bars, and specializes at the Law Center in banking issues and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), financing strategies, and legal nonprofit and tax counseling related to community economic development. Professor Head formerly served as acting director, deputy director, and director of litigation with Legal Services of Greater Miami in Miami, Florida over a five year period from July 1981 to June 1986. Prior to that, Professor Head served as a staff attorney at Georgia Legal Services in Columbus, Georgia from August 1977 through May 1981.
