Margie R. Lariviere

Adjunct Professor Margie Lariviere is the Executive Director of Claims Service Operations at California State Automobile Association, AAA of Northern California. She joined the business side of insurance operations in May 2007. From March 2006 to May 2007, Professor Lariviere held the position of Senior Counsel, advising the insurance teams on regulatory matters, claims/underwriting issues and product development.

Prior to joining AAA, Professor Lariviere spent 12 years with the San Francisco litigation firm of Kelly, Herlihy & Klein LLP. She was a Partner with the firm's Insurance Litigation practice group, representing insurance companies in civil cases throughout California. She specialized in life, health, and disability insurance matters, as well as ERISA coverage issues.

Professor Lariviere received her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley in 1990 and graduated from Hastings College of the Law in 1994. She has had the privilege of teaching classes at Hastings since 1999, in both Insurance Law and Pre-Trial Civil Litigation.

She is an avid reader, enjoys hiking and walking around San Francisco, and loves to travel with family and friends.
