Ann Shulman
Adjunct Professor Ann Shulman is a facilitator, mediator and trainer who has been helping groups from around the world work together more effectively for over 20 years. She first became fascinated with group dynamics while working as a bicycle tour guide in Europe the summer after passing the Bar Exam.
Currently, Ms. Shulman is the co-founder and President of Philanthropy Associates, a consulting firm that provides program design and evaluation, meeting/retreat facilitation, and strategic planning services to foundations, individual donors and non-profit organizations. In this capacity, she has designed and facilitated collaborative change efforts with a wide variety of organizations across the United States, Eastern and Western Europe, Morocco, Australia and the Pacific Rim.
Ms. Shulman has trained the leadership and staff of organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies and top-ten foundations to local and international community groups. She is the former President of the Northern California Mediation Association and is the co-author of Trouble-Free Travel ... And What To Do When Things Go Wrong (Nolo Press, 1998).
Ms. Shulman received her LL.M. in International Law from the The European University Institute, Florence, Italy in 1991, her J.D. from Boalt Hall in 1989 and her B.S. in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Duke University in 1985.
In her free time, Ann enjoys singing, creating photo albums, playing with her two sons and just about any activity outdoors.
