Univ-Prof Dr. Christian Armbruster


Christian Armbruster is a tenured Professor at Free University of Berlin. Simultaneously he is a Judge at the Berlin Court of Appeal (Kammergericht). The List of Publications currently contains some 200 scientific publications mainly in the fields of Contract, Company and Business Law, Insurance, Private International Law and European Law as well as about 60 book reviews and other articles in legal periodicals. The Dissertation is on Insurance Contract Law whereas the Habilitationsschrift deals with Company Law and Trust. Professor Armbrüster has been invited to Universities in Barcelona, London, Paris and Rome as a Visiting Professor, where he has taught Company and Business Law in English and French. He is the German representative for the THEMIS network of excellence that includes Bocconi in Milan, ESADE in Barcelona as well as Paris XII and Maastricht. Furthermore, he participates in the Working Group on the Protection of Cultural Heritage located at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Paris. He is a member of the Insurance Board of the Federal Financial Services Control Board (Bundesanstalt fuer Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht) in Bonn, Germany, as well as of several other legal boards and associations. His advice has been sought by the German Government and by the Federal Parliament (Deutscher Bundestag) in the context of various lawmaking projects.
