Paola Cecchi Dimeglio is a permanent associated scholar at both UC Hastings College of the Law and the Gould Center at Stanford Law School. She is also associated with the law school of Brussels University (Belgium). Before completing her Ph.D., she practiced law in Paris for Landwell LLP (correspondent of PWC) focusing on international contract and distribution contracts. She has completed her French and Belgium Ph.D. in law on international franchise contracts. Her Ph.D. has been awarded Summa Cum laude with Felicitations of the Jury. The thesis has received the right to be published (only 2% of French Ph.D.’s are granted this in right). She earned her J.D. and Masters degree from the Magistére-DJCE of Montpellier University and an LLM from UC Hastings.
Professor Paola Cecchi Dimeglio research interests lie at the crossroads of law, economy and cross-cultural studies. Her research projects often combine quantitative and qualitative methods and span a wide variety of topics.
Professor Paola Cecchi Dimeglio has presented parts of her research at different conferences such as the Assemblée Nationale for the RDV d’autonme des médiateurs, World Congress of Philosophy of Law. She has published articles on franchise and distribution contracts as well ADR. She divides her time between the US and Europe. She currently serves as a consultant for the franchise industry and for other companies that wish to invest in the U.S. or in France.
She has developed and taught several courses on European contracts, Comparative law Intellectual property, and ADR.
French-Italian by nationality and Dutch by love, Professor Paola Cecchi Dimeglio in her free time enjoys running, doing yoga and cooking for her husband and friends. She loves to travel with her husband and read books about philosophy.
