Jaime S. King, Associate Professor of Law

Jaime King joined the Hastings faculty in 2008, following completion of a Ph.D. in Health Policy at Harvard University and serving as a fellow at the Center for Law and the Biosciences at Stanford Law School. Prior to commencing her Ph.D., she earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law and served as an articles editor on the Emory Law Journal. Following law school, Professor King was an associate at Morris, Manning and Martin, LLP in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked on intellectual property, environmental and litigation matters for the firm. Professor King has a wide range of research interests that all fall at the intersection of law, medicine, ethics and policy, including the regulation of assisted reproductive technologies, genetic testing, and communication between physicians and patients. Professor King is the Associate Director for Hastings of the UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium for Law, Science and Health Policy.
