Frederick Lambert, Professor of Law


After graduating from Michigan Law School, Professor Lambert clerked for U. S. Court of Appeals in Los Angeles for U.S. Circuit Judge Stanley N. Barnes from 1969-1970.  From 1970-1971 he served as an Attorney Advisor in Washington, D.C. in the Office of Legal Counsel, a Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.  He was one of the first Law Clerks for Associate Justice William H. Rehnquist in the 1971 Term of the U.S. Supreme Court.  He was in private practice in Los Angeles in three large law firms from 1973-1990, where in his last firm he chaired the Corporate Department. In 1981, he served as Acting General Counsel in the Itel Corporation Chapter 11 Reorganization in San Francisco.  He was an active member of the State and Los Angeles County Bar Associations, serving on both the Executive Committee and the Business Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar, and the Corporations Committee of the State Bar.  Professor Lambert was a member of the Board of Visitors, University of Michigan Law School, 1986-2002.  He currently serves on the National Academic Advisory Board of the William H. Rehnquist Center on Constitutional Structures of Government at the University of Arizona Law School.  He is the author of 2011 Applied Business Organization, Reorganization and Intro to Fed Securities Law.  

Professor Lambert maintains contacts with practicing lawyers and serves a consultant and expert witness to lawyers and law firms on business law matters.  Professor Lambert was a Visiting Professor at University of Michigan Law School and Duke University Law School in 1990-1993, and Leiden University in 2007.
