Alicia Plerhoples, Visiting Professor
Visiting Professor Alicia Plerhoples joins Hastings from Stanford Law School where she was the Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe Clinical Teaching Fellow. As a Fellow, Professor Plerhoples taught in a nonprofit law clinic and advised nonprofit organizations on a wide range of governance and transactional matters. Prior to entering academia, Professor Plerhoples was in private practice in New York City and Silicon Valley where she advised financial institutions on corporate and real estate financing arrangements. Professor Plerhoples is a graduate of Yale Law School where she served as senior editor of the Yale Law Journal and articles editor of the Yale Journal of Law & Feminism. She also has a Masters in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. Professor Plerhoples' academic interests include clinical pedagogy, nonprofit law and social enterprise. Her research focuses on outcome assessments for transactional law clinics and the overlap between the for-profit and non-profit sectors, particularly with respect to emerging forms of hybrid corporate entities.
