Rikiya Sakamoto, Visiting Professor
Mr. Rikiya Sakamoto is an Associate Professor of Law at the Nihon University College of Law in Japan where he has been teaching U.S. law with a concentration in American Constitutional Law, Contracts, Torts, Corporations, Civil Procedures and Arbitration from the perspective of Japanese law since 2003.
Before joining the faculty at the Nihon University College of Law, Prof. Sakamoto principally engaged in the practice of international commercial litigation in the United States as a New York State-licensed attorney, as well as a foreign law attorney licensed in Japan (called Gaikokuho Jjimubengoshi in Japanese).
Prof. Sakamoto received his legal education in both Japan and the United States, obtaining a Bachelor of Law degree at the Nihon University College of Law and Master of Law and Master of Comparative Law degrees at Tulane University Law School.
Prof. Sakamoto will be teaching a course of "International Litigation & Arbitration in Japan" in the Spring 2011 semester.
