Laurel Simmons is a criminal defense attorney in the Bay Area and has a state and federal practice of both trial and appellate work. Prior to starting her own firm, she worked at WilmerHale in Palo Alto and Washington, D.C. and clerked for the Honorable Julie E. Carnes, Chief Judge of the Northern District of Georgia. She is also a lecturer at UC Berkeley School of Law. Prior to law school, Professor Simmons taught high school English in Bethesda, Maryland. She is a graduate of Stanford Law School and Wake Forest University (summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa).
