Professor Alice Armitage is Program Director of the Startup Legal Garage at UC Hastings, overseeing the administration of a program that connects students with leading attorneys to provide corporate and intellectual property work to early-stage startup companies. She is also involved in research for the Institute for Innovation Law on the legal issues facing startup companies. Her early career included years at Arnold & Porter and the Treasury Department, and she has taught as an adjunct at UCLA. More recently, Alice was founder and CEO of a mobile safety app startup and has provided consulting services to other startup companies.
Professor Armitage is a graduate of the Yale Law School where she was the first woman Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Law Journal. She also has an A.B. and an M.A. in British and American Literature from Brown University.
