Contracts 101 - In an effort to protect the College and limit its liability, established processes have been put in place for executing contracts. There are also different workflows that need to be followed depending on the contract value. it is important that departments also understand how individuals should be classified (employee or consultant) before they are hired to provide services. The IRS is very interested in the proper classification of individuals. Because various departments are involved in securing contracts (i,e., General Counsel, CFO, Purchasing), the following resources are available to assist employees in better understanding the process so that their contracts can be expeditiously executed. September 2011 Financial Management: Roles and Responsibilities of the Department Head and Budget Manager - Department Heads and Budget Managers are vital to ensuring the College meets its financial management and fund stewardship obligations. The following resources are designed to assist Department Heads and Budget Managers in better understanding their financial management roles and responsibilities. these resources also identify financial services staff who are available to assist them in fulfilling their financial management duties.
