Orientation

The Office of Fiscal Services offers comprehensive business and financial services to the Hastings community. Our primary role is multi-faceted in that we provide service, support, advice and control. Together, the Fiscal staff contains substantial knowledge and experience about the College's financial operations.

Department Heads and Budget Managers at Hastings are charged with not only leading their programs but also have significant and important financial responsibilities. One of the Fiscal department's most important goals is to partner with the Department Heads and Budget Managers to orient and educate them about the College's financial policies, procedures and processes to help ensure they are successful in this endeavor.

The Fiscal Services and Purchasing Orientation workshop is one tool we use to meet this goal. These workshops are scheduled on an as needed basis as new Department Heads and Budget Managers assume their role at the College. All Department Heads and Budget Managers are welcome to review the presentation used in the workshops. In the future, Fiscal will be developing "Financial Operations Bulletins". These how-to bulletins will allow users to drill down to learn more about how to process specific transactions within the Fiscal and Purchasing departments.
