Payment Deadlines

  • Monday, January 09, 2012: Tuition and fees are due by 4:00 p.m. in the Office of Fiscal Services. Students will be assessed a $150.00 late fee if payments are received after this date.

  • Wednesday, January 11, 2012: This is the last day to pay tuition and fees. Students who have not paid their tuition and fees in full by this date will be assessed an additional $300.00 late fee.

  • Students receiving financial aid must ensure their funds have been received by the Office of Fiscal Services by Monday, January 09, 2012 in order to avoid being charged a late fee. Students whose financial aid is delayed and will not arrive by the Monday, January 09, 2012 deadline must file a Tuition and Fee Deferred Payment Agreement.

Returned Checks
If Students pay fees with a "bounced" check that is returned to the College unpaid after Monday, January 09, 2012, they will be assessed a $150.00 late fee and a $25 returned check fee. If full payment of the account is not made by Wednesday, January 11, 2012, students will be assessed an additional $300.00 late fee.

Students will be notified of a returned check via their UC Hastings email.

Deferred Payment
If your financial aid does not arrive by Monday, January 09, 2012, you must apply for a deferred payment agreement.

Note: even if your deferred payment agreement is approved, students will be unable to pre-register for the Fall 2012 semester until the Spring 2012 tuition and fees have been paid in full.

Cash Only Status
Students who issue two or more "bounced" checks to the College are placed on a cash only status for the balance of the academic year. This status is applicable for all goods and services purchased throughout the College.

Holds on Student Records
Whenever a student's tuition and fee account or McAllister Tower account becomes past due, a hold will be placed on the student's records until payment is received. A hold will also be placed upon receipt of an unpaid (bounced) check. All services will be withheld from the student until the hold is satisfied.

Disputing Late Fees
Students who wish to dispute the assessment of late fees must do so in writing to the Associate Director of Fiscal Operations stating why they feel the fees were assessed in error. The Associate Director will respond to the request via the student's UC Hastings email within 7 working days. Appeals to the Director's decision may be made in writing to Fiscal Services Controller.
