Submissions
The Hastings Business Law Journal gladly considers unsolicited manuscripts by faculty and practitioners on any subject related to business law. However, at this time, we do not publish articles submitted by non-Hastings students. We strongly prefer submissions submissions via mail and email.
The Journal also welcomes both formal and informal responses to articles appearing in the Journal and will consider such responses for publication.
Format
Submissions should be double-spaced, typewritten on 8.5" x 11" paper, with citations in either footnote or endnote style.
Citations must conform to The Bluebook (18th ed. 2005).
All submissions should be accompanied by a cover letter and a brief abstract. All necessary contact information should also be included.
Submissions by Email
The Hastings Business Law Journal is pleased to accept submissions electronically. Articles may be emailed directly to the Journal at hbljsbms@uchastings.edu.
Submissions by Mail, Hand, and Overnight Delivery
Paper submissions should be directed to the following:
Hastings Business Law Journal
U.C. Hastings College of the Law

The Journal regrets that it can only return those manuscripts for which the author provides a pre-addressed, postage-paid envelope.
Expedited Review
In the event an author is presented with a deadline from another publication, we will make every effort to expedite review of their work. Unfortunately, we will only be able to expedite review during the school year (mid-August through mid-May).
To request an expedited review, please send an email to hbljsbms@uchastings.edu. Expedite requests should include the author's name, the title of the article, the name(s) of the offering journal(s), and the deadline date.
