Wireless Network

The Wireless Network extends to most student study areas. Any student with a notebook computer with 802.11b or 802.11g Wireless Networking (either through a plug-in card, or built-in) can connect to the Hastings network and get access to email and the internet. 802.11N has been installed in all classrooms on campus.

SecureHastings Connection

In October, 2008, we completed the installation of a new SecureHastings connection to the wireless network (198 and 200 McAllister buildings.) In July 2009 we installed the SecureHastings connection to the wireless netowrk in the Tower Dorm, 100 McAllister. This means that students will be able to setup their laptop computers (and other mobile devices) to use WPA (or WPA2) Enterprise for automatic login. No longer will students have to type their login information each time they want to connect to the wireless network.
