How to Get Started
Go to lexisnexis.com/lawschool. Type in your ID and password.
To do your research, click on the red “Lexis.com” button in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Here you see multiple tabs along the top of the page.
Search Tab: This is the basic search space. You can search in databases of cases, statutes, secondary sources, etc. By default, the search tab will be set to search 'Legal'.
Use this tab when you need information on a legal issue but you don’t know which specific documents you are looking for.
Get A Document Tab: Here you can pull up a specific document if you know the citation.
Shepard's: Use this tab when when you want to see how a paricular case has been dealt with in other cases.
