Search For Cases By Headnote Or Topic
Under “Retrieve a Document,” enter the citation of a case that’s on point. Click “Go.”
Scroll down to “West Headnotes."
Look through the headnotes and identify any that seem relevant. Once you have identified a relevant headnote, click “Most Cited Cases.”
Select the order in which you want to view your results (“Most Recent Cases” or “Most Cited Cases”), check or uncheck the box next to “Include ALR, law reviews, and other references,” select your jurisdiction, and add search terms and/or connectors. (Note: Adding search terms is optional.) Click “Search.”
