Law & Diplomacy Discussion with William Howard Taft IV

William Howard Taft IV visits Hastings to discuss law and diplomacy, and his talk will cover intriguing topics such as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the closure of Guantanamo Bay and the prosecution of enemy combatants.
Taft served as the Acting Secretary of Defense under Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush and as the U.S. Ambassador to NATO under President George H.W. Bush. He subsequently served as the Chief Legal Advisor to U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell under President George W. Bush and was instrumental in advising Secretary Powell on the U.N. resolution to go to war with Iraq.
