CA Constitutional Convention: Common Sense or Wishful Misunderstanding

Start:  1/20/2010 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Location:  iRestaurant, 20007 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA

Moderated by Professor Michael Salerno, Associate Director of the Center for State and Local Government Law, the Bay Area for Change sponsors a panel
"California Constitutional Convention: Common Sense or Wishful Thinking" on January 20.

The panel addresses the potential solutions to CA's stuck and broken government, centering on a Constitutional Convention as a potential alternative. We hope to explore what really is broken, whether a Constitutional Convention can solve them or simply create other challenges, and look at alternatives (e.g., the initiative process). Our panelists represent a spectrum of views and backgrounds relevant to these issues.

AGENDA:

6:30-7:00 pm Appetizers and Networking
7:00-8:00 pm Dinner
8:00-9:30 pm Panel & Q&A
